Essential Announces Appointment of Chief Operating Officer

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(CCNMatthews - April 30, 2007) - Essential Energy Services Trust (TSX:ESN.UN) ("Essential", or the "Trust") is pleased to announce that Ken Wagner has been promoted to the position of Chief Operating Officer of the Trust.

Mr. Wagner founded Cascade Steaming in Fort St. John, British Columbia in the fall of 1997 with a single steam truck. Under Mr. Wagner's leadership Cascade grew rapidly over the following years to be recognized as one of the top service companies in northeast British Columbia with a broad range of specialized truck services including steamers, pressure trucks, hydro-vacs, tank trucks and hot oilers. In June of 2004, Avenir Diversified Income Trust ("Avenir") acquired the business and operations of Cascade. Mr. Wagner continued as President of Cascade and managed a period of explosive growth, strong profitablility and a very enviable record for safety performance and regulatory compliance. In May of 2006 with the spin out of the energy services division from Avenir to form Essential, Mr. Wagner accepted the position of Vice-President Operations, Transport based in Calgary, Alberta.

In this new role Mr. Wagner will continue to be based in Calgary and will have responsibility for all aspects of the day to day operations of Essential and will also play a key role in determining corporate strategy and direction.

Essential is an energy service trust that provides a range of essential production services to oil and gas producers across western Canada from northeast British Columbia to southwest Saskatchewan including service rigs, coil tubing, rod rigs, swab rigs, vacuum truck, pressure truck, tank truck, hydro-vac, steaming and hot oiling along with other related services. Essential focuses on post drilling production maintenance and enhancement services to ensure stable cash flows for Essential unitholders.
