Essential Energy Services Trust Announces Changes to Board of Directors

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - June 9, 2008) - Essential Energy Services Trust (TSX:ESN.UN) ("Essential") announces that effective June 9, 2008 Mr. William M. Gallacher has resigned as Chairman and as a member of the board of directors (the "Essential Board") of Essential Energy Services Operating Corp., the Manager of Essential, and has advised Essential that he will not stand for re-election at the upcoming annual general and special meeting of unitholders of Essential to be held on June 17, 2008 (the "Meeting"). In addition, Mr. Gary H. Dundas has advised Essential that he will not be standing for election to the Essential Board at the Meeting as indicated in the materials mailed to unitholders in connection with the Meeting.

Essential would like to thank Messrs. Gallacher and Dundas for their years of dedicated service to Essential.

Essential also announces that the Essential Board has appointed Mr. James A. Banister to the position of Chairman. Mr. Banister is currently a director of Essential and prior to the merger of Essential and Builders Energy Services Trust ("Builders"), Mr. Banister was the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Builders.
