Esterline Promotes Business Group President to Corporate Strategic Marketing Role

Michel Potvin Will Be the Company's New Vice President of Corporate Strategy


BELLEVUE, WA--(Marketwired - Sep 10, 2013) - Esterline Corporation (NYSE: ESL), (www.esterline.com), a leading specialty manufacturer serving global aerospace and defense markets, today announced that Michel Potvin will serve in a new role for the $2 billion company as Vice President, Corporate Marketing & Strategy. 

Potvin has led one of Esterline's major business platforms, Esterline Control Systems, for more than two years. Esterline Control Systems is a group of four U.S. companies making valued Korry®, Mason, and BVR control products as well as offering Avista software services.

Lawrence said the VP of Marketing & Strategy will be responsible for developing a more centralized customer interface and point of contact as well as a collaborative sales strategy. Potvin will be leading the corporate strategic planning process, including coordination of platform- and segment-level planning activity. In addition, he will be researching how Esterline products can better serve their markets going forward while remaining competitive in an ever-changing industry.

Potvin joined Esterline as a Platform President in 2011, coming from L-3 Communications where he was Vice President at their Canadian division, L-3 MAS. He also has prior management experience with Lockheed Martin and Invensys Process Systems and is a graduate of the University of Quebec with an industrial engineering degree. He also completed graduate studies in project management and an executive management program at the Queen's University School of Business in Ontario.
