Esurance ICER AIR 2008 Announces Diverse Musical Line-Up

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - September 9, 2008) - ICER is pleased to announce the musical line-up for Esurance ICER AIR. This year's event will feature a bigger and more diverse musical line-up than past events, showcasing a wide range of musical acts and performers including: The Cool Kids, K'Naan, 3OH!3, DJ Spider and Men Women & Children.

"We are excited about the expanded music program this year," said ICER AIR founder, Glen Griffin. "We are offering fans a full day of music with an eclectic mix of musical acts performing throughout the day, providing a diverse soundtrack for the event."

The following performers are slated to play at Esurance ICER AIR 2008:

Well known hip-hop duo The Cool Kids were listed in Rolling Stone's Ten Artists to Watch in 2007 and their song "I Rock" was heard on an episode of HBO's popular TV series "Entourage." The duo, consisting of Antoine "Mikey Rocks" Reed and Evan "Chuck Inglish," have collaborated with several other musical artists including Lil Wayne and DJ Benzi.

K'Naan, a Canadian poet and hip hop artist from Somalia, has a sound that fuses Bob Marley, conscious American hip hop, and brilliant protest poetry. His debut album, "The Dusty Foot Philosopher," was released in 2005 to critical acclaim. He has worked with artists including Nelly Furtado, Mos Def, The Roots, Dead Prez, and Pharoahe Monch on performed on tours such as Live 8 and Breedlove Odyssey.

3OH!3, an American hip-hop and electronica band from Boulder, Colorado, was named one of the six artists to watch by Rolling Stone in 2008. Ranked among Alternative Press's "100 Bands You Need to Know in 2008," 3OH!3 spent their summer lighting it up nightly on the Vans Warped Tour. The duo's explosive live show -- which has earned them opening slots for artists as diverse as The Faint, Snoop Dogg, and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony -- was unquestionably among the traveling festival's biggest crowd-pleasers.

DJ Spider, one of the most renowned and popular DJs in the world today, has cultivated his sound to include an eclectic mix of cuts that draw from nearly every genre of music. His current residencies include some of the most highly acclaimed venues in the country, including Pure in Las Vegas, Club Reserve in Chicago, and Stingaree in San Diego, as well as frequent appearances at Hollywood hotspots such as Winstons, Area, and Les Deux.

Rounding out the musical line-up for Esurance ICER AIR is Men Women & Children, who are known for their infectious over-the-top live performances with their fusion of rock, disco, pop and funk.

The idea of skiing San Francisco became a reality three years ago. On September 29, 2005, 15,000 people watched history being made as ICER AIR took to Fillmore Street for the first-ever urban big air ski and snowboard competition. Realizing the potential for this type of event and always wanting to push the limits of creativity, ICER AIR creator Glen Griffin moved the jump to AT&T Park in 2006 for the first big-air stadium ski and snowboard competition in the United States. Esurance ICER AIR has since evolved into an action sports, music, and lifestyle experience featuring skiing, snowboarding, skate, BMX and headliner music acts. In 2007, the event expanded again to include freestyle motocross. Continuing the mission of bringing the mountains to the city, Esurance ICER AIR 2008 will be held October 18, and will again feature action sports, concerts, and parties. For 2009 and beyond, ICER AIR intends to grow into other cities and will announce its future plans soon.
