Esurance and Minor League Baseball to Honor Best Hometown Fans With New Home Field Advantage Award

SAN FRANCISCO, CA and ST. PETERSBURG, FL--(Marketwired - July 26, 2016) - As the second half of the season gets underway, Minor League Baseball (MiLB) and Esurance today unveiled the first annual Esurance Home Field Advantage Award. The new award honors the communities who best support their hometown MiLB clubs. One Minor League Baseball team in each of the 14 leagues will receive the Esurance Home Field Advantage Award based on the highest percentage capacity of the ballpark during the 2016 season.

The winning teams will be announced in September, and honored at the 2016 Baseball Winter Meetings™ in National Harbor, Maryland, this December. A celebration for the hometown fans of each winning team will also take place at their respective ballparks at the start of the 2017 season.
