ETFO Offers Course in French

A course in French for teachers of French Attention: Assignment Editor, City Editor, Education Editor, News Editor, Government/Political Affairs Editor TORONTO--(CCNMatthews - Aug. 8, 2005) - A course in French for teachers of French - core, extended and immersion - will be offered this summer by the Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario (ETFO) and the Halton Teacher Local.

The course is one of a wide range of professional development opportunities offered this summer by ETFO in partnership with its locals across the province. Courses are taught by ETFO members and designed to provide teachers with practical skills and resources to use in their classrooms. Hundreds of elementary teachers are expected to take part.

Available courses include a women's leadership institute, principals' qualifications program, and credit courses.

What: Apprendre le français, une gymnastique intellectuelle!

Apprendre le français est une gymnastique pour le cerveau. En plus de développer une flexibilité intellectuelle, l'apprentissage du français langue seconde permet aussi d'améliorer le pouvoir de concentration. Les participants auront l'occasion de pratiquer des « servo-jeux », des activités qui motivent la communication orale tout en exerçant les différentes intelligences. Des stratégies de groupes, des « servo-jeux » une recette simple qui amènera les élèves à communiquer! Du plaisir pour tous les participants!
