ETI Chooses Telrad's Technology to Expand Delivery of High Quality Voice and Data Services for Country-Wide Network in Guinea-Conakry, Africa

Telrad's Platform Offers a Scalable End-to-End, Wireless Broadband Solution Allowing ETI to Easily Expand Coverage to High-Enterprise and Residential Customers

CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA--(Marketwired - November 12, 2013) - AfricaCom 2013 --  Telrad Networks, a global provider of innovative 4G wireless and telecom solutions, announced today that ETI, a leading Internet service provider in Guinea-Conakry, has chosen Telrad's 4G platform to expand its broadband network from the capital city, Conakry.

Using Telrad technology in the 2.5 GHz frequency band, ETI will deliver high-end wireless voice and data services to a wide range of both enterprise and residential customers. With a successful customer base in the capital city of Conakry, ETI will expand its coverage throughout the rest of the West African country, totaling an area of 246,000 square kilometers (94,981 square miles) in Guinea.

"Having gained experience with the Telrad technology, we were confident in our decision to continue using it as we expand our network to cover the rest of the country," stated Marc Civelli, CTO of ETI. "Telrad's solutions possess the necessary quality of service, including wire-quality voice and robust data services that we require in order to deliver a superior customer experience. Additionally, Telrad offers a clear transition path to LTE, enabling us to simply transfer our network and customers to LTE when we are ready."

Telrad's end-to-end 4G solution is highly suitable to offer both voice and data services over the same network. With an advanced dynamic scheduling mechanism, the network prioritizes voice transmission to deliver a large number of voice sessions simultaneously enabling voice services equivalent to wire-line quality.

For the past decade, ETI has leveraged Telrad's WiMAX technology to provide Internet access, voice and data services over the same network. The new portions of the network will be rolled out in phases, utilizing the inherent scalable and robust features of the products, reducing costs and maximizing profitability.

"We are delighted to work with ETI on expanding its network. Winning this expansion project is positive proof of our outstanding technology and expertise," stated Ran Bukshpan, CEO of Telrad. "This is the foundation upon which Telrad's leadership position in Africa will continue to grow."

Telrad is demonstrating their newest 4G products at Africa's largest telecommunications show, AfricaCom, Cape Town, South Africa, November 12-14, Booth E13b.
