ETI Software Helps Tier-One Telcos Deliver Video Services Quickly And Affordably

SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 8, 2005) -

Tier One Tool Kit Simplifies Addition of Video Services to Large Subscriber Bases Over Existing Infrastructure

TelcoTV Conference and Expo 2005, Booth #612

ETI Software Solutions, Inc. (ETI) (www.etisoftware.com), a leading provider of automated, flow-through service activation software, has launched its Tier One Tool Kit, a comprehensive set of software tools which are designed to enable large telecommunications service providers to offer digital video services affordably and quickly.

With cable companies now competing with telcos by offering voice communications services with the same network and infrastructure in which they deliver video and high-speed data services, telcos are under increasing pressure to stay competitive by offering video services to their existing subscriber base and retain/recruit new customers. However, the introduction of video services to their existing infrastructure proves itself to be slow, costly and disruptive.

ETI's Tier One Tool Kit provides a scalable, cost-effective option to help large telcos quickly connect their existing enterprise billing, operational support systems or workflow management systems to IPTV or digital video platforms.

"Launching IPTV and traditional digital video services offers both tremendous opportunities and big challenges to established, tier-one telecommunications service providers," says Pete Pifer, President and CEO, ETI Software. "Adding video offers them a chance to generate additional revenue by selling a new service, but many telcos are struggling to rapidly deliver these services without intensive capital technology spending."

The Tier One Tool Kit connects any IPTV middleware or digital video technology platform to disparate systems, enabling these major providers to instantaneously activate, manage and bill video services. Tools also include support for Video-On-Demand, Pay-Per-View and a powerful video services order entry and rating module facilitating triple-play packaging. All of the Tool Kit's components may be used with the existing infrastructure that delivers traditional voice and high-speed Internet services.

ETI has already deployed its tool kit for two North American tier-one video providers providing video services to millions of subscribers and has deployed more 100 systems for telcos since 1995. In total, their products currently control and deliver video to millions of subscribers worldwide. These tools are the result of more 50 man-years of software development, providing a solution set to fill "video gaps" in traditional Telco B/OSS.

"Our tool-kit provides a small but critical part of the digital video puzzle to telcos that connects to all of the other pieces," adds Pifer. "We understand all of the other technology players that have a role in delivering video and are able to work with a myriad of technologies to make the essential connections for providing multiple services over one infrastructure."

ETI Software is exhibiting at the TelcoTV Conference and Expo 2005 in San Diego November 8-10. Please stop by booth #612 to find out more about its Tier One Tool Kit. For more information or to arrange an interview, please contact Gary Hilson at 416-494-5723, ext. 203 or e-mail garyh@sackepr.com.
