Europ Assistance USA Chief Medical Officer to Speak at GBTA Convention

Workshop Shares Best Practices in Global Travel Risk Management

BETHESDA, MD--(Marketwired - Jul 27, 2015) - Dr. Eugene Delaune, Chief Medical Officer at Europ Assistance USA, will speak on the topic of medical evacuations in the midst of security or political turmoil at the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) Convention, taking place in Orlando, Florida from July 25-29, 2015.

Dr. Delaune, along with Chris Knight, Director of Global Operations for Drum Cussac, will share their expertise and knowledge on how complex yet routine medical evacuations in foreign countries can become even more complicated with political or security unrest.

In addition to discussing the common pitfalls many organizations face today, they will share the steps corporations should take to minimize risk, in addition to preparing and educating their travelers, as well as other stakeholders. This educational forum will take place today at 11:30 a.m. at the Orange County Convention Center.

"Many organizations prepare for medical or security emergencies, however, in many cases these incidents have been planned for in isolation," notes Dr. Delaune. "Many times these instances happen in tandem, making it imperative that organizations and their respective medical and security assistance providers are working together for the benefit of the impacted travelers."

Dr. Delaune will also participate on a panel titled, "Risk Radar: Medical and Security Risks in 2015 and Beyond," on Tuesday, July 28 at 10 a.m. With medical, security and natural disasters on the rise, panelists will discuss possible risks and issues global organizations may face in 2015 and beyond, along with best practices to mitigate and/or avoid those risks.

Europ Assistance USA will also have an exhibit at the GBTA Convention. Attendees and media are invited to stop by booth #1835 to learn how Asterisk® Travel Risk Management Solutions provides clients with knowledge and experience to manage and respond to the risks of international business travel.
