Europ Assistance USA to Present Discussion on Managing International Travel Risk for Colleges and Universities

BETHESDA, MD--(Marketwire - Sep 12, 2011) - Europ Assistance USA (EA USA) will lead the "The Varied Approaches to Managing International Travel Risk for Colleges and Universities" panel tomorrow at the Expedition Risk! Conference. Taking place this week in Portland, Ore., the conference is presented by the University Risk Management and Insurance Association (URMIA).

As university-sponsored international travel grows, the risk associated with it grows proportionately. The conference presentation will examine university response programs for medical, security and natural disaster crises by discussing program design, the evaluation of insurers and service providers, education and implementation of the program to ensure buy-in, participation, and activation of the response program in an actual crisis. Using the political unrest in Egypt earlier this year as a case study, the panelists will also demonstrate how the University of California risk manager worked on extraction and communication to various constituencies: the travelers and their parents, the administration and the media.

Who: Mark McCracken of EA USA, as well as representatives from the University of California, Santa Clara University and Arthur J. Gallagher Risk Management Services.

What: "The Varied Approaches to Managing International Travel Risk for Colleges and Universities"
