European Equity Markets Find Their Mojo in January Relative to Other Global Equity Markets: Russell Indexes

Russell Strategist Sees Positive Developments in the Eurozone

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwired - Feb 6, 2015) - The Russell Developed Europe Index finished January up more than 7%, outperforming the Russell Developed ex-US Index, the U.S. all cap Russell 3000® Index and the Russell Frontier® Index.

Wouter Sturkenboom - Senior Investment Strategist, Russell Investments
"Recent developments in the Eurozone have been very positive. Decisive ECB policy action, a lower euro exchange rate, lower oil prices and higher consumer and producer confidence have helped increase investor confidence in Europe and, in turn, have driven stocks higher thus far in 2015, in absolute terms and in comparison to other developed global equity markets."
