European Union of Brussels Taps Into Net Optics

iTap Technology Improves Forensics Compliance Visibility

SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwire - March 4, 2008) - Net Optics, Inc. announced that its iTap Port Aggregator products were chosen by the European Union of Brussels to provide improved network event and statistics monitoring as part of a larger forensics compliance initiative. The ability to send network traffic to dual monitoring ports from a single intelligent device enabled separate network and security groups to simultaneously capture the information they needed. Central to the requirement was the ability for administrators to concurrently capture network statistics using iTap SNMP management functionality.

Net Optics and its partner, MMS Secure, spent several months working with the customer to identify the best solution to ensure 24 x 7 access, stealth operation, and 100 percent data capture. Working closely together, the vendors determined the customer's pain points and goals, enabling the products to deliver value beyond expectation.

Uwe Skrzypek, European Business Development at Net Optics, commented, "The iTap's dual port capability alleviates contention issues between two groups within the customer's organization, while its SNMP functionality provides both groups with real-time statistics from remote locations as well as the data center."

Tap technology offers network architects a new level of flexibility that optimizes monitoring resources. In addition, high-speed iTap processing and dual power supplies ensure a high level of data integrity for the network traffic copied to attached monitoring tools. Combined with other Net Optics products, this family of 100 percent passive Fiber Taps creates a versatile monitoring access platform (MAP) for improved visibility and security-threat management across the entire network.
