Euroseas Ltd. Announces Date for the 2017 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders

MAROUSSI, ATHENS, GREECE--(Marketwired - May 26, 2017) - Euroseas Ltd. (NASDAQ: ESEA), an owner and operator of drybulk and container carrier vessels and provider of seaborne transportation for drybulk and containerized cargoes, announced today that the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders will be held at the offices of Seward & Kissel LLP, One Battery Park Plaza, Ground Floor, New York, New York 10004 on Friday, June 23, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. Shareholders of the Company as of the close of business on Monday, May 15, 2017, the "record date," will be entitled to vote at the Annual Meeting or any adjournment thereof.

The Notice of the Annual Meeting and Proxy Statement will be mailed to shareholders of record on or about May 26, 2017, and will available on the Securities and Exchange Commission's website at www.sec.gov and on the Company's website at www.euroseas.gr.

Euroseas Ltd. was formed on May 5, 2005 under the laws of the Republic of the Marshall Islands to consolidate the ship owning interests of the Pittas family of Athens, Greece, which has been in the shipping business over the past 140 years. Euroseas operates in the dry cargo, drybulk and container shipping markets. Euroseas' operations are managed by Eurobulk Ltd., an ISO 9001:2008 certified affiliated ship management company, which is responsible for the day-to-day commercial and technical management and operations of the vessels. Euroseas employs its vessels on spot and period charters and through pool arrangements.

The Company has a fleet of 13 vessels, including 3 Panamax drybulk carriers, 1 Kamsarmax drybulk carrier, 1 Handymax drybulk carrier and 1 Ultramax drybulk carrier, and 7 Feeder containerships. Euroseas' 6 drybulk carriers have a total cargo capacity of 417,753 dwt, and its 7 containerships have a cargo capacity of 11,525 teu. The Company has also signed a contract for the construction of one Kamsarmax (82,000 dwt) fuel efficient drybulk carrier. Including the new-building, the total cargo capacity of the Company's drybulk vessels will be 499,753 dwt.
