Evans Newton Incorporated Announces Recipients of Inaugural Parent Assisted Learning Grants

SCOTTSDALE, AZ -- (MARKET WIRE) -- January 9, 2007 -- Evans Newton Incorporated (ENI), a leading developer of customized solutions for raising student achievement, today announced the winners of a grant competition completed during fall 2006. Ten districts, selected from over 400 respondents, will receive comprehensive sets of ENI's Parent Assisted Learning (PAL) Packets™ for up to ten school buildings. PAL Packets are proven, standards-based instructional activities for grades K-6 that parents and students complete at home together. These activities allow parents to contribute to their children's academic success and to help raise student achievement.

Those receiving the grants include Dumas Public Schools, AR; Pine Bluff School District #3, AR; San Diego Unified School District, CA; Savannah-Chatham County Public School System, GA; Kankakee School District 111, IL; Kokomo-Center Schools, IN; Baltimore City Public Schools, MD; South Pike School District, MS; Jackson Township School District, NJ; and Fort Worth Independent School District, TX. The value of the grants totals nearly $1,000,000.

In announcing the grant recipients, ENI's CEO, Jamie Piotti, stated, "As shown by the large number of responses to this grant, districts nationwide are looking for ways to increase parent involvement.
