EVault Joins Healthcare Broadband Alliance

EMERYVILLE, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- September 7, 2005 -- EVault, Inc. (www.evault.com), the leading online backup and recovery provider, today announced that it has joined the Healthcare Broadband Alliance, a forum that helps businesses in the healthcare industry transition to new broadband networks.

Working together, Healthcare Broadband Alliance member companies develop awareness programs to help educate healthcare providers and their solutions vendors regarding new certified solutions, technology options and how to maximize value from virtual private networks (VPNs). High-speed broadband networks can help businesses grow revenue, cut expenses and improve overall client services -- providing three times the speed for about half the cost of traditional wide area networks.

"The healthcare industry has more privacy and security requirements to comply with than any other industry today," said William da Cunha, vice president of alliances at EVault. "By joining the Healthcare Broadband Alliance, we hope to become a valuable data protection partner for healthcare organizations big and small to ensure their information is secure and meets compliance requirements."

EVault's online data backup products and managed services enable healthcare administrators to maintain accessibility to the organization's electronic files, while at the same time remaining compliant with industry mandates such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Benefits of online backup include point-and-click recovery, automatic backups, secure off-site protection, and advanced encryption and data compression technologies.

"New Edge Networks welcomes EVault into the growing Healthcare Broadband Alliance," said Greg Griffiths, vice president of marketing for New Edge Networks. "EVault represents yet another trusted choice for businesses that turn to the Healthcare Broadband Alliance for support in maximizing the value of new broadband networks."

EVault also recently joined the Retail Broadband Alliance, a forum established by New Edge Networks that makes it easy for businesses migrating to broadband networks to increase revenue, cut expenses and improve customer experience. The Retail Broadband Alliance, which includes more than 85 member companies, brings together companies that represent products and services used in the entire retail sales supply chain for data networks.
