Even Technologies Releases 1.5 Version of PSI_V'TM' Codec to Enable SD and HD Streams for Telecom Companies

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 21, 2006) - Even Technologies Inc. (TSX VENTURE:ETI), a company specializing in advanced digital image and video coding techniques, released today version 1.5 of its video compression engine PSI_V™ which will help telecom companies to provide more services to their customers without investing in new infrastructure.

The Even Technologies PSI_V™ solution uses a revolutionary compression technology built on a patented system. The 1.5 codec is the best video codec available today and provides the best match of bitrate, CPU complexity and quality to maximize the current infrastructure and latest technologies.

Even produced the new technology in response to a rapidly changing telecommunications industry. The advent of high definition (HD) television has meant that pictures now contain far more detail than before, significantly increasing the costs for telecom companies to provide their services. Even's PSI_V™ codec is ideally suited for HD as it compresses the images to a much smaller size, eliminating the extra costs for providers.

PSI_V™ enables the delivery of standard definition broadcast video at only 750 kilobits per second and high definition video at less than three megabits per second. Even at loop lengths over 18,000 feet, telephone companies can deliver to three televisions per home without rebuilding their outside plants. PSI_V™ will eliminate the cost and delay of rebuilding telephone networks for video and allow telcoms companies to immediately begin providing customers with the digital television they desire.

Nick Ringma, CEO of Even Technologies Inc, said:

"We believe that PSI_V™ is the most technologically advanced video codec on the market today. It utilizes lower bitrates and provides higher quality video than any other codec thereby enabling businesses to target wider audiences and double video content in constrained storage situations.

"The PSI_V™ codec is superior to others on the market as it facilitates the delivery of Video on Demand and broadcast television over IP at nearly one third less than the required bit rate for its competitors' streams.

The first contract for installation of Even Technologies' PSI_V™ codec in a Telco system was signed with Silver Star Telephone Company and is currently in its second stage of development, enabling them to utilize their existing telco infrastructure to deliver more than 125 channels of broadcast TV and video-on-demand to customers, including service to three televisions per household.

PSI_V™ codec can facilitate video stream compression or video on demand over IP, broadcast video over IP, live and pre-recorded streaming, packaged media, remote video conferencing, long distance education, and in-flight entertainment systems.
