Everbridge Executive to Participate on Crisis Communication Panel Discussing New Challenges Facing Incident Notification Practices

Best Practices and Industry Challenges Shared at International Crisis & Risk Communication Conference

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - May 5, 2011) - Everbridge, the world's recognized leader in incident notification systems, today announced that Marc Ladin, Chief Marketing Officer, will be presenting at the 2011 International Crisis & Risk Communication Conference in Orlando, Florida on May 10-11, 2011. Ladin will participate on a panel titled, 'Social Media and Emergency Notification' and explore the evolution of social media's participation and impact on managing crisis communications in today's global climate.

Hosted by the University of Central Florida's Nicholson School of Communication, the ICRC Conference brings together industry thought-leaders, researchers, and experts from government, corporate/enterprise, and higher education to facilitate an international dialogue on approaches to collectively understand, adapt and respond to significant crisis communication challenges facing leaders in various capacities. Featured speaker Dr. Robert Chandler will be hosting, presenting and moderating a variety of panels that explore today's key issues and lessons learned from communicating in the event of the unexpected.

"With the recent disaster in Japan to the latest string of deadly tornados, we are seeing social media evolve into a communication channel that can inform, warn and persuade audiences, yet there are concerns and objections limiting its usage," said Dr. Robert Chandler, Ph.D., Director, Nicholson School of Communication, University of Central Florida. "Some of our sessions are aimed at bringing to light those concerns and hearing the tales from the trenches on how to integrate social media into your crisis communication plan. I'm extremely excited about this event as I think it will provide a whole new level of depth on crisis communications."
