Everton Commences Drilling at the Claude Target in the Opinaca Gold Discovery Region, James Bay, Quebec

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Feb. 22, 2007) - Everton Resources (TSX VENTURE:EVR) and joint venture partner Azimut Exploration (TSX VENTURE:AZM) are pleased to announce that a 2000-meter drill campaign has commenced at the Claude Target on Opinaca B (Azimut Option). The drill program is anticipated to take approximately four to six weeks to complete and is designed to identify the core of the mineralizing system discovered in the fall of 2006 in the initial drill-test hole OP-06-07 where the entire drill section graded 221 ppb Au over 186.8 meters, including 1.4 g/t Au over 12 meters (press release of November 9, 2006). Drill results are expected in April/May. For the location of the Claude Target, please visit the properties section on Everton's web-site at www.evertonresources.com

This drill program is Everton's first of a multi-target 2007 drill campaign in the Opinaca region that has been designed based on Everton's successful 2006 exploration season. Later in the year, drill testing is planned for other targets along the Claude-Manuel Corridor (Opinaca B - Wildcat 5), the Smiley Target on Opinaca A (Azimut Option), the Manuel Showings on Evertons's 100%-owned Wildcat 5 property (12.01 g/t Au over 4.6 meters) as well as other potential targets that have been identified.

In conjunction with the winter drill program, excellent progress has been made over the last month on the line cutting and the Induced Polarization (IP) surveys covering the entire length of the 10-kilometer Claude - Manuel Corridor and at the Smiley Target, located 5 km north of the Eleonore gold discovery, on Opinaca A. These comprehensive magnetic and IP ground geophysics programs, totaling 226 line-kilometers, are expected to be completed shortly and should help identify additional drill targets.
