Everyone Wants to Be Katia Nicole's 'Best Friend'

13-Year-Old Miami-Based Performer's Infectious Debut Single Is Being Promoted to Top 40 and Hot AC Formats

MIAMI, FL--(Marketwire - Feb 27, 2012) - It's a question everyone in Katia Nicole's hometown of Miami and beyond is asking this year as they check out her infectious debut single and energetic dance video: Who wouldn't want to be her "Best Friend?"

An ambitious, triple-threat force of nature who maintains a straight A-average while acting, shooting commercials and dancing and cheerleading at 13-years-old, Katia launched her singing career performing at charitable events for the American Cancer Society, "Race for the Cure" and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).

"Best Friend" -- a song every young girl can relate to, about wanting to be your best guy friend's girlfriend -- is currently shipping to Top 40 and Hot AC stations nationwide. Penned by Julio Richardson, the track was produced & co-wrote by Grammy Award winner Pablo "Pabanor" Ortiz, CEO and Founder of Pabanor Music Works (, a full service, Miami-based production and management company specializing in club and dance artists from the U.S. and throughout the world. Ortiz began developing Katia's musical talents through her manager Cheryl Udrich and later became the teen singer's co-manager along with John Tovar (formerly managed Nuclear Valdes, The Mavericks and Marilyn Manson). Ortiz produced and directed the video for "Best Friend" as well.

In addition to appearing on the music program TN3 in Miami, Katia will showcase at the city's Winter Music Conference and South By Southwest in March, as well as various festivals in the U.S. and Canada throughout the spring and summer. Her previous shows in South Florida include several gigs at Tokyo Blue in Ft. Lauderdale, and she has also sung in NYC and Philadelphia. Katia will also be performing soon at a halftime show at a Miami Heat basketball game at the American Airlines Arena.
