Evolent Health Launches Payer Value Alliance to Propel Value-Based Care

Solution Ensures Payers and Providers Achieve, Measure and Share in Performance Improvements

WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwired - October 21, 2014) - Evolent Health, the leader in helping progressive health care systems lead, build and own the path to value-based care, today announced the launch of its Payer Value Alliance to support health systems, physician groups and payers in accelerating their value-based strategies through payer partnerships.

As part of the network launch, a foundational payer cohort including Humana has agreed to innovative value-based contracts with Evolent's expansive base of provider organizations. These emerging payment arrangements align payers and providers in delivering improved clinical outcomes, enhanced care coordination, and reduced costs for employers, consumers and government agencies.

The Evolent Payer Value Alliance consists of three components: 1) aligned contract templates that enable clinical value creation and capture, 2) an established network of payer and provider relationships, and 3) built-for-purpose infrastructure including technological, financial and risk management, and population health platforms. Through the standardized contracts, and the unified application of processes and technology that these contracts allow, Evolent's Payer Value Alliance enables greater impact and lower administrative burden (for both payers and providers) while also improving the consumer experience.

"We are excited to formalize the launch of the Payer Value Alliance with Premier Health, a number of other integrated health systems and a group of progressive payers. Too often we see provider systems ready to begin the shift to value, yet challenged to create common, sustainable financial and clinical frameworks across their contracted payers," said Seth Blackley, President of Evolent. "This solution, in conjunction with our integrated suite of operational platforms, promotes mutually beneficial value-based relationships between payers and providers."

"Premier Health is committed to delivering consistently high quality care to the patients we serve, regardless of payment source," commented Mike Maiberger, Senior Vice President, Value-Based Services. "Not only has Evolent been an invaluable partner in facilitating win-win payer partnerships, its platform suite can be used across all payer populations, supporting our goal of optimizing administrative processes and patient-physician engagement."

"At Humana, we're focused on helping providers easily transition into value-based relationships," said Renee Buckingham, Enterprise Vice President, Provider Development Center of Excellence at Humana. "By partnering with Evolent and its Payer Value Alliance, we're able to streamline the process of value-sharing contracting with these leading providers, who in turn gain access to Evolent's infrastructure to help them get more patients on the path to better health."

At launch, Evolent's Payer Value Alliance includes multiple national and local payer organizations, including Humana, with additional partnerships in the works. Other providers levering the alliance's supporting infrastructure include Premier Health, WakeMed Health & Hospitals, Key IPA and Deaconess Health System among others.
