EWI Developing Naval Unit

AJAX, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - July 7, 2005) -

Environmental Waste International (TSX VENTURE:EWS) ("EWI") has been contracted to design and build a unit for the drying and sterilization of food waste aboard naval vessels. This first unit will be built and delivered for testing to the contractor's research centre in the UK. The unit will then undergo performance testing before being certified for use by the end user. EWI believes that this project can lead to an order for additional units as well as opening up new opportunities to develop products for this sector.

EWI believes that this contract demonstrates the interest that has been generated over the past few years in its microwave technology and innovative solutions. The company continues to identify major environmental and waste problems that can benefit from its microwave processes and is designing systems that can treat these problems within it's mandate to treat waste in an environmentally responsible manner. Numerous groups have approached EWI to see how the process can be applied to treat other waste streams.

EWI provides processors for environmentally safe liquid waste decontamination for biocontainment facilities, sterilization of medical and biological waste, and recovery of usable byproducts from rubber tires. EWI continues to work on further applications for its processors. Please visit EWI's home page on the Internet at: www.ewmc.com
