WOODBRIDGE, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - July 5, 2012) - Fans, friends, family and supporters of 2005 Canadian Idol contestant, Vincenzo Benenati will gather to help raise $100,000 in an effort to get the treatment he needs to fight back!
A promising career has been put on hold as Vince Benenati, family man and father of a 16 month old daughter gets news that his cancer has returned. Vince, who was diagnosed with Lymphatic Cancer in 2010, has been through two different types of chemotherapy, radiation treatment and a stem cell transplant. The results came back in May and showed that the tumor has started growing again.
His one last option is a drug called SGN-35. This drug is in its clinical trial stages and is not currently covered by OHIP. It will cost $14,000 per injection and at least six injections are needed. The good news is that he is an excellent candidate for this drug that has seen a 75% success rate.
Despite this devastating news, Vince remains unfaltering in his determination to beat the odds and live to be a husband and father to his family.
It is in this spirit of hope that Vince's family and friends will be hosting a fundraising event at Le Jardin Banquet Hall on July 5th, 2012 called "Night of Hope."
As a community rallies together to make this fund raising campaign successful, organizers are hoping well wishers who are not able to attend will open their hearts and help by donating online to assist in raising $100,000!
Tickets to attend the July 5th fundraiser are $100 and include dinner, entertainment and a variety of fun activities.
This is just the beginning of a success story that in a few short weeks will give Benenati another chance!
