Exciting New Talent Joins Rocco Rossi Campaign

Toronto Mayoral Candidate Announces Prominent Political Figures Have Joined His Growing Election Team

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Aug. 31, 2010) - Fresh after announcing his intention to introduce recall legislation to give Torontonians the ability to take back their City Hall by taking back their vote if City politicians don't meet expectations, mayoral candidate Rocco Rossi announced today that well-known political strategist Warren Kinsella has joined his team as Director of Strategic Communications. Kinsella is president of the Daisy Consulting Group and has served on many political campaigns. In 2003 and 2007, he was Chairman of the War Room in both of the successful Ontario Liberal Party election campaigns; and on the federal scene, he managed the Liberal Party of Canada¹s War Rooms in 1993 and 2000.

Along with Kinsella, the rapidly expanding Rossi campaign is welcoming six other additions. They are:

  • Former Deputy Mayor Michael Feldman, who served as a Councillor for nearly two decades, first within the former City of North York and later as a representative for York Centre in the City of Toronto. He is a strong proponent of Rossi's recall proposal and has been recognized as a fiscally responsible consensus builder on City Council. He is also a community leader, serving on the Toronto Centre for the Performing Arts Advisory Committee, the Hummingbird Theatre board, the Toronto Economic Development Corporation and the Toronto Film Board.
  • Veteran political advisor Scott Munnoch, who has worked closely with Canadian political leaders, both provincially and federally, notably serving as Executive Assistant to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Tour Director for the Prime Minister of Canada.
  • Rob Sinclair, a veteran Toronto campaign organizer who specializes in strategic organization, notably for Mayor David Miller's electoral victories in 2003 and 2006.
  • Derek Rowsell, a business lawyer and corporate executive with more than fifteen years of experience advising directors, officers and managers, who brings a wealth of organizational expertise and business acumen to the campaign.
  • Beth Corbett who is president of the Ontario PC Youth Association and is quickly developing a reputation as one of the leading youth organizers in Ontario's conservative movement. Corbett joins the Rossi campaign as a Youth Co-Chair.
  • Robert Trewartha, a senior political consultant at Daisy Group, who has worked at all levels of government and served in the office of a Provincial Cabinet Minister. He is also involved in extensive charitable work as the Communications Director of Hats On For Awareness, a mental health charity.

Bernie Morton, who joined the Rossi campaign less than a week ago as the new campaign manager, said "The women and men joining our team today come with valuable political insights and experience. They are excellent additions to the growing Rocco Rossi team. They believe that Rocco is the best candidate by far in the Toronto mayoral race and that he can win."

Rossi added, "I am so pleased to see that our campaign continues to grow and continues to attract such high calibre people from all political parties and walks of life. Our campaign is a true coalition. And we will soon be announcing more exciting additions to our team."
