RAYMOND WEIL, the luxury Swiss watchmaker was the official watch partner at the Classic BRIT Awards 2011, which took place on Thursday 12th May at The Royal Albert Hall. The partnership is an addition to RAYMOND WEIL's four very successful years as Official Watch of The BRIT Awards, resulting in a closer brand association with the British Phonographic Industry (BPI).

In addition to its Official watch Partner status, RAYMOND WEIL sponsored the 'Artist of the Decade' Classic BRIT Awards awarded to internationally recognised vocal quartet, IL DIVO. Each of the members of the group also received a limited edition RAYMOND WEIL watch. Each watch was engraved with this year's Classic BRIT Awards 2011 logo and was a presentation to celebrate their success.

Following the success of their performance at the Classic BRIT Awards 2011, IL DIVO's Sebastien Izambard took part in an exclusive interview. An extract from this interview can be found below:

You have won the Artist of the Decade award at The Classic BRIT Awards 2011. How does this make you feel?

It feels amazing; it's a real honour. I have been living in London since we started IL DIVO, so it is a tremendous pleasure for me. I feel as if we have been born here and still blossoming. I love it, it's recognition from the industry and we know we are not loved from all corners of the industry, so it means a lot to us.

How important is the Classic BRIT Awards to you and how well perceived are they within the classical music industry?

They are really important, as we're not pop and not purely classical. It shows the Classic BRIT awards are open to crossover music. After all, the Classic BRIT Awards are well perceived; they are beautiful and classy.

How has classical music changed over the past ten years?

It has evolved completely. I feel, coming from the pop background, that it's less purist, people are more open minded, but it is beautiful to keep some traditions within classical music. It's about evolving in the right way in keeping the foundations. It's about making its beauty accessible to more people.
