Exile Resources Inc. Appoints John Orange Chairman

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Aug. 6, 2009) - Exile Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:ERI) ("Exile" or the "Company") today announced that Mr. John Orange, Director, has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors, replacing Mr. Ian Gray who is stepping down as Chairman but will remain a Director of Exile.

Mr. Tony Henshaw, President and CEO of Exile, commented from Lagos where he, CFO Graham Warren, and Mr. Orange are, among other business, meeting with Akepo's Nigerian project partners Sogenal Ltd. and Oando Exploration and Production Limited, "We are pleased that we will be able to benefit from Ian's continuing input and advice, whilst John takes up the role of Chairman. John's wide experience will be valuable as our Company develops its oil and gas interests in Africa. We are grateful for Ian's guidance over the past three years, as he steps back from the role of Chairman to devote more time to other business interests."

Mr. Orange is a former chief executive, principally with the BP Group, having spent 29 years with BP working around the world. Educated in Dublin, he obtained his BA (Law) degree from Trinity College in 1965 and is a barrister who has specialized in energy resources throughout his career. A past President of the UK Petroleum Industry Association (1993-1995), he is a Fellow of the Energy Institute as well.

Mr Orange also currently serves as the Senior Non Executive Director on the board of Premier Oil PLC, where he is Chairman of the Remuneration Committee, member of the Audit Committee and member of the Nomination Committee. His board experience has included numerous directorships throughout his career.
