Expansion of a major manufacturing exporter in Boisbriand: AP&C Advanced Powders & Coatings

$2 million in financial support from the Government of Canada will help the business acquire state-of-the-art equipment

SAINT-EUSTACHE, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Oct. 17, 2016) - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)

Manufacturing businesses need to be able to rely on adequate resources to create and commercialize their innovative products. The Government of Canada is committed to supporting Canadian enterprises that are investing in innovation to support their growth and thus generating benefits for Canadian communities and creating well-paid jobs for the middle class.

As part of the official ground-breaking of AP&C Advanced Powders & Coatings' brand new plant in Saint-Eustache, Linda Lapointe, Member of Parliament for Rivière-des-Mille-Îles, acting on behalf of Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED, announced that the enterprise has been granted $2 million in financial assistance to acquire modern, high-performance equipment for its new facility. The repayable contribution was granted under CED's Quebec Economic Development Program (QEDP).

The financial assistance will help AP&C Advanced Powders & Coatings, which is continuously seeking to innovate, to equip its new plant with specialized machinery and a research and development centre. The business will then be able to increase its production and innovation capacity to meet increasing national and international market demand.

AP&C Advanced Powders & Coatings produces powder of titanium and Inconel, a superalloy made from nickel, chromium and iron. Its high-purity products are mainly used in the fabrication of parts for the aerospace and medical industries. With this new facility, the enterprise expects to create more than 100 jobs.
