Expansive Growth in Sales and Global Presence Mark Net Optics' First Quarter of 2013

Network Visibility Leader Introduces Innovative 40G and SDN Solutions, Gains Industry Recognition, and Hires First COO

SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwired - Apr 29, 2013) - Net Optics, Inc., the leading provider of Total Application and Network Visibility solutions, today announced significant marketplace growth through the first quarter of 2013. The company saw a record-breaking Q1 in global sales, hired Dennis Omanoff as the first COO in the company's history and shipped 53,000+ ports.

"As we anticipate evolving network demands, Net Optics continues to diversify its family of solutions," said Net Optics CEO Bob Shaw. "Our approach stands out as we are the only ones to offer a family of integrated solutions that span AA-NPM, load balancing, NPB, virtual taps and network taps."

In Q1, Net Optics announced the first and only Network Packet Broker (NPB) solution to seamlessly integrate Software Defined Networking (SDN) and also forged the way for 40G and 100G migration through the launch of the 40G iBypass Switch™.

In his March 2013 report, "Network Packet Brokers Enable Network Teams to Scale Operational and Security Use Cases," Gartner analyst Jonah Kowall advises companies to, "Consider NPB, NPM, and application performance monitoring (APM) use cases within your SDN and data center switching strategy."

On the heels of global expansion and increased demand, Net Optics hired its first COO, Dennis Omanoff, to guide worldwide business development, engineering and manufacturing teams. The need for a COO became evident as the company is breaking records in revenue, releasing more products than at any time in its history, and attacking the cloud and software defined networking with soon-to-be announced innovations. Omanoff, a highly regarded security industry veteran, is a supply chain and scalability expert who comes from Seagate and McAfee.

Net Optics CEO Bob Shaw was named a semifinalist in the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2013 program. The award recognizes outstanding entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. The winner will be announced in June.

Company Growth
Since launching in 1996 and introducing the network Tap to market, Net Optics has maintained a leading position, co-founding the Network Packet Broker (NPB) space and expanding into Application Aware Network Performance Monitoring (AA-NPM). In 2012, the company surpassed the $300 million revenue mark and acquired Sydney based nMetrics and Triplelayer, broadening its reach in Asia-PAC and deepening its network insights and analysis capabilities. The company also recently formed distribution partnerships with ApliDigital in Brazil and RDT in the Middle East.
