Experian QAS Releases New Report: Higher Education Institutions and Contact Data Quality

Research Finds That Higher Education Institutions Are Wasting Budget Each Year on Inaccurate Contact Data

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - Nov 30, 2011) - Experian® QAS®, a division of Experian Marketing Services and a leading provider of address verification software and services, today announced the release of Higher Education Institutions and Contact Data Quality. The report examines contact data accuracy within higher education and the effect of inaccurate data on institutions.

The study reveals that contact information is dispersed across institutions, with 62 percent of respondents stating they maintain three or more databases. In addition, 60 percent of institutions believe they waste budget on inaccurate contact data. These issues are caused by human error and reliance on manual processes to correct mistakes.

"Colleges and universities rely heavily on contact data for many organizational processes, from admissions advertising to alumni development," said Thomas Schutz, senior vice president, general manager of Experian QAS. "Institutions need to put processes in place to eliminate the possibility for human error in data. This will allow them to become more efficient and capitalize on fundraising efforts."
