Explor Completes Phase III Drilling Program on the Eastford Lake Gold Project

ROUYN-NORANDA, CANADA--(Marketwire - Sept. 5, 2007) - Explor Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:EXS) is pleased to announce that Phase III diamond drill program, totaling 3283 m in six (6) holes, has been completed on the Eastford Lake Gold Property. The property is situated in the Kerrs, Warden, Milligan Townships and the Rayner Lake area, south-west of Lake Abitibi, Ontario, 90km east of the Timmins-Porcupine gold mining camp.

The Eastford Lake Property consists of 137 contiguous unpatented mining units for a total of 2,200 hectares contiguous with the SAGE Gold Inc. property. (See SAGE Gold Inc. press release dated November 08, 2005)

Phase III drilling has further confirmed the application of the Hollinger/McIntyre gold model to the Eastford Lake project area. Multiple zones of komatiitic ultramafic flows are interbedded with iron-rich basalts. These flows are intruded by feldspar porphyry sills and irregularly shaped quartz-feldspar porphyry (QFP) bodies. A complex deformation zone of sub-parallel shears traverses these rocks in an east-northeast direction. The deformation zone is marked by strong quartz/carbonate alteration, talc/chlorite alteration of ultramafics, bleaching and silicification of basalts and sericite alteration of QFP's. Strongly anomalous gold up to 1.3 grams/tonne over 1.5 m is found associated with the deformation zone, especially in and near contacts of the sericite altered QFP with strongly carbonatized and fuchsitic ultramafics. The gold mineralized deformation zone is coincident with the northern, or "up-ice" cut-off of a large cluster of gold and mercury in soil geochemical anomalies.

Phase III drilling suggests that gold values increase in a northeast direction and in close association with a large sericitized QFP intrusion which has true width greater than 200 m and undetermined strike length. Phase IV has begun and will include two approaches. Firstly, line cutting and ground geophysics will search for additional drill targets northeast of the large sericitized QFP. Secondly, down-hole Induced Polarization (I.P.) will test for pyritic gold zones near newly discovered gold-enriched intersections. These geophysical programs will guide the next phase of diamond drilling.
