Exploration Puma: More Holes Intersect the New Lens Between the Shaft and Hache Lenses

RIMOUSKI, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Aug. 13, 2008) - Three additional holes drilled by Exploration Puma (TSX VENTURE:PUM) have intersected the new lens between the Shaft and Hache lenses on Puma's Nicholas-Denys property, in New Brunswick. The three holes cut the mineralized lens at a vertical depth of 250 metres, with the following respective results: 149 g/t Ag, 4.3% Zn, and 3.8% Pb over 4.9 metres, 63 g/t Ag, 3.1% Zn, and 3.8% Pb over 4.0 metres, and 227 g/t Ag, 1.8% Zn, and1.3% Pb over 1.7 metres.

In all, seven deep holes have now intersected the new mineralized lens between the Shaft and Hache lenses (press release of 12/06/2008). The holes have enabled the mineralization to be traced over a distance of 150 metres, thereby confirming the continuity of the mineralized zone in the Shaft area over a distance of more then 650 metres. In the new lens, the deepest hole intersected the target at a vertical depth of 400 metres. The mineralization remains open at depth; the vertical extent of the new lens is as yet unknown.

The results received from the seven (7) holes demonstrate the scale of the discovery, with significant grades over ten-metre lengths of core.

Current Program

Since the beginning of 2008, 78 holes have been drilled in the vicinity of the Hache and Shaft lenses, for a total advance of 18,592 metres. The drill program has been temporarily suspended because of the new discoveries, to allow for the proper compilation and interpretation of results from the 10,115 samples that have been collected. A magnetic survey is in progress in the area between the Henry and Hache lenses, to better define new targets for drilling.

Regarding Puma

Exploration Puma is concentrating its exploration activities in New Brunswick on its Nicholas-Denys mineral property, located near Bathurst. The Company believes it is in a position to define enough ore to start a mining operation with a target resource of three to five million tonnes. Out of an initial exploration budget of $3.5 million, $2.5 million have been expended on the drilling campaign.

The samples were analyzed at the ALS Chemex laboratory in Val d'Or using the atomic absorption and ICP methods. Geologist Marcel Robillard, a Qualified Person as defined in NI 43-101, prepared the contents of this press release.
