Explorator Resources Appoints Michael Schuler VP Exploration

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - March 20, 2007) - Explorator Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:EXO) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Mike Schuler as Vice President, Exploration for its Chilean copper-gold projects. Mr. Schuler is a geologist with over 30 years experience in mineral exploration worldwide. For the past 15 years he has held Executive and Senior geological positions and worked throughout South America. Mr. Schuler is based in Chile and will oversee an aggressive exploration and drilling program at the advanced El Espino project, and assist in reviewing potential new projects. Mr. Schuler holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Idaho, a Masters in Exploration Geology from the James Cook University in Townsville, Australia and is a licensed geologist in the State of Washington and as such will also provide services to Explorator as a "qualified person" as defined under National Instrument 43-101.

Explorator President David O'Connor commented: "Mike brings to the company a track record of success in addition to a wealth of relevant experience and ability. His skill set, specifically regarding geological interpretation and ore reserve calculation, is well-suited to an advanced project such as El Espino. We have been actively completing preparations for our Phase I exploration program, and work will begin immediately."

The El Espino copper-gold project is an advanced exploration project with demonstrated Iron Oxide Copper-Gold ("IOCG") style mineralization, where mineralization extends for 3 kilometers long (N-S) by 2 kilometers wide (E-W). Numerous small and several extensive underground workings are indicative of substantial historical copper and gold production, generally from oxidized, near surface mineralization. The project has historically been explored by major international mining companies, including Anaconda, Rayrock, Goldfields, North Broken Hill Peko, Teck-Cominco and Rio Tinto. Exploration has included detailed geological mapping, geochemical sampling, geophysical surveying and 13,785m of reverse circulation and diamond drilling. Significant intervals of copper-gold mineralization have been obtained in previous drilling by these companies.

Although substantial detailed geological data exists, more work is required to thoroughly understand the controls of mineralization. The company has completed an air photographic and topographic survey to provide an accurate base map on which to compile all available data. Michael Schuler will construct a computerized database from this information, while designing and managing a more detailed drilling program at El Espino as the first phase of Explorator's exploration/evaluation of the project.
