ExtendMedia Unveils OpenCASE 2.0

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - March 29, 2005) - ExtendMedia, a
leading provider of software solutions the digital content and media
industry, today announced the availability of version 2.0 of
OpenCASE™. The new release expands the product's capabilities to
provide a complete solution for secure commercial broadband media
delivery within the connected home.

OpenCASE is an open, extensible technology platform that enables service
providers to harmonize their existing services and launch compelling new
services across a multitude of networks and devices. OpenCASE 2.0
contains significant new functional enhancements over previous versions
of the product.

"We've seen a tremendous response to OpenCASE since launching the
product last year," said ExtendMedia CEO Keith Kocho. "Deployments like
Manitoba Telecom's IPTV service - one of the largest in North America -
are showing the power of OpenCASE to drive revenues and retention by
supporting targeted, intuitive content services for the connected
consumer. The 2.0 release continues our mission to help service
providers adapt to the changing market and the evolving needs of their
customers."

Designing Products on Your Terms

OpenCASE gives service providers an unprecedented ability to design and
deploy a new generation of captivating content services within the
connected home. Previous versions of the product provided sophisticated
product management facilities that expand the service providers' ability
to define pricing, discounting, bundling, up-sell, and cross-sell rules
that encourage consumers to purchase more services. The new release
extends those capabilities to asset-based content services, giving
service providers the ability to manage the entire "asset-to-product
lifecycle" from a single interface.

Additionally, OpenCASE 2.0 provides a pluggable security framework that
allows service providers to control security policy as a product
management function, ensuring that digital rights are granted and
enforced regardless of their choice of encryption scheme or DRM
technology.

Understanding the Connected Consumer

OpenCASE gives service providers the tools they need to develop
one-to-one relationships with their customers. Previous versions of the
product provided extensive customer profiling capabilities to provide
insight into consumer behaviors, preferences, and utilization of
devices. OpenCASE 2.0 includes an optional Client Services Manager that
provides device-resident support, giving services providers a persistent
window into the connected home and the devices deployed therein.

Delivering Services with Confidence

OpenCASE gives service providers a robust delivery infrastructure that
allows them to put their presence, their content, and their services on
every device within the connected home. Previous versions of the product
featured a service-agnostic provisioning infrastructure for real-time
service activation. OpenCASE 2.0 adds robust distribution management
capabilities that allow service providers to efficiently control
delivery of scheduled and on-demand content via any distribution
architecture - unicast, multicast, or peer-to-peer.
