ExtraHop Co-Founders Named Finalists for the 2014 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Pacific Northwest Award

Jesse Rothstein and Raja Mukerji Recognized for Strong Track Record of Technology Innovation, Business Leadership, and Category Creation

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwired - May 06, 2014) - ExtraHop, the global leader in real-time wire data analytics for IT operational intelligence, today announced that Jesse Rothstein, ExtraHop co-founder and CEO, and Raja Mukerji, ExtraHop co-founder and President, have been named finalists for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year® 2014 Pacific Northwest Award. The award program recognizes entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance, and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. Jesse and Raja join a prestigious group of finalists including Zulily CEO Darrell Cavens and Puppet Labs CEO Luke Kanies. Finalists were selected by a panel of independent judges, including previous award winners, leading CEOs, private capital investors, and other regional business leaders.

Throughout their careers, Jesse and Raja have adhered to the highest standards for technical excellence and business leadership. Before starting ExtraHop, Jesse and Raja were proven innovators at F5 Networks, where they led the team that pioneered the BIG-IP v9 product line and the TMOS platform. In their respective roles, Jesse and Raja played an instrumental part in bringing application fluency to the load balancer, not only catapulting F5 to market leadership, but also spearheading the creation of the application delivery controller (ADC) category, now a $3 billion market.

When Jesse and Raja started ExtraHop in 2007, they sought to take an innovative, next-generation approach to solving an old problem: ensuring the performance and delivery of business-critical applications. After spending years developing F5 Networks' ADC, Jesse and Raja uniquely understood that the success of a business rests on the performance, availability, and security of applications and infrastructure. Backed by funding from Meritech Capital Partners, Madrona Ventures, Andreessen Horowitz, and other private investors, ExtraHop is pioneering a new category, called IT operations analytics, with a platform that delivers correlated, cross-tier, and real-time visibility across the entire application delivery chain. With this deep visibility, ExtraHop's enterprise customers, including Morgan Stanley, Lockheed Martin, McKesson, Alaska Airlines, Concur, and others, are empowered to optimize the performance, availability, and security of applications in their complex, dynamic environments.

"When Raja and I started ExtraHop in 2007, we did so with the goal of delivering a fundamentally different way of solving the growing and extremely onerous problem of managing IT operations," said Rothstein. "With the help of our incredibly dedicated team, we've been able to build a company and a product focused on the success of our users, and we've transformed the way they think about their IT operations in the process."

"Jesse and I built ExtraHop on the same mutual respect and collaborative approach that helped us excel during our tenure at F5," said Raja Mukerji. "This recognition from Ernst & Young is a testament to the kind of company that can be built on teamwork and cooperation, not just between founders, but between all those involved in a business. Jesse and I are honored to be in the company of so many extraordinary past finalists for this award, as well as the leaders and innovators that join us on this year's roster."

The winner of the 2014 Entrepreneur of the Year award for the Pacific Northwest will be announced at a special gala event on June 20, 2014, at the Hyatt Regency in Bellevue, Washington.
