Extraordinary Events and Avantgarde Take Highest Honors for MINI Wanderlust Campaign at 22nd Galaxy Awards

With Near Perfect 10 Scores, the Campaign Earned Best of Show Over 600 Entries From 22 Countries for Product & Service Marketing Excellence

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - Nov 8, 2011) - The combined team of Extraordinary Events (USA) and Avantgarde (Germany) captured the highest honors on behalf of their car client, MINI (Munich, Germany), for the MINI Countryman Wanderlust Campaign at the 2011 Galaxy Awards on November 1. Besides being awarded as the competition's best of the best, the entry took first place in the special events category. The competition honors excellence in product and service marketing.

MINI Countryman Wanderlust Campaign events took place over six weeks in five U.S. cities to introduce the new MINI Countryman to U.S. consumers. The campaign increased awareness and positioned the vehicle as part of an adventuresome lifestyle. It created high-traffic buzz via social media and a call to action to visit the campaign Web site. By inspiring MINI followers to create their own Wanderlust event ideas and post them on the MINIspace Web site, the producers created a strong viral impact that garnered MINI high-quality U.S. prospective buyer leads.

The judges, top marketing consultant firms and corporate marketing departments throughout the world, praised the marketing campaign as "Well done!!!" and "Fun! A very creative idea well-executed." With near perfect 10 scores, the project best embodied the spirit of excellence at the Galaxy Awards, according to competition representatives.

"To be one of only two U.S. agencies so honored is a very proud moment for EE," said Extraordinary Events President Andrea Michaels. "These events, spearheaded by Beth Stephenson who worked closely with the Avantgarde team, represent a new way of thinking for events and event marketing and speak to what the future holds in store for all of us. To be so acknowledged is very exciting for our entire team."

Over 600 entries from 22 countries were judged. Winners in numerous categories such as advertising, brochures, emerging media and Web sites were announced. A few category winners included Kircher Burkhardt & Stuttgart for Porsche and Hong Kong Tourism Board (Design). Metzler-Vater Communications took silver in the Special Events category for BMW.

The Galaxy Award honors professionals who build image, create profit and make a difference in the marketplace.
