Extreme Announces the Filing of Three New Product Patents

New Technology Platforms Strengthen Extreme's Intellectual Property Position

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA--(Marketwire - Sept. 24, 2007) - Extreme CCTV International Inc., a division of Extreme CCTV Inc. (TSX:EXC), today announces that it has recently filed three new patents to further strengthen its intellectual property position. The patents cover new technology platforms developed within the year and reflect increasing output from Extreme's Centers of Excellence for Research and Development located in the UK and Canada.

The announcement coincides with Extreme's release of several new products which incorporate the patent-pending technologies at ASIS International 2007, the world's largest event dedicated to security. The three technology platforms for which Extreme has filed patents are:

Black Diamond™ infrared illumination technology, filed as "Micro-Diffractive Surveillance Illuminator," is the first infrared illumination platform developed specifically to optimize performance of megapixel cameras and video analytic software. Black Diamond™, winner of the prestigious "Best New Video Device" award from the Security Industry Association at the recent International Security Conference in Las Vegas earlier this year, has already achieved strong initial sales.

Constant Light™ infrared illumination technology, filed as "Constant Optical Output Illuminator System," is the world's first "Intelligent Infrared" system. Designed to compensate for performance declines caused by the degrading effects of time and temperature, Constant Light™ incorporates microprocessor control capability, improving long-term performance and reliability for high performance requirements in video analytics.

REG-NR™ alphanumeric imaging technology, filed as "Non-Retro-Reflective Imaging System," is a breakthrough technology platform that addresses the challenges of capturing lettering and other identifying markings on moving objects such as trains, ISO containers and trucks. The capability to effectively read alphanumerics under any environmental conditions has numerous important applications in security, transportation and defense. The technology advance has led to the development of cameras designed specifically for capturing lettering on ISO containers (model REG-CC1), a growing Homeland Security concern, and seeing through vehicle windshields (model FACS-DV1), an important application for Intelligent Transportation Systems.

"Extreme continues to innovate the CCTV industry. These new electro-optic devices will accelerate the emergence of video analytics in the security industry and deepen our reach into the Intelligent Transportation Systems market," says Jack Gin, President and CEO of Extreme CCTV. "Our world-class engineering teams are recognized globally for outstanding product development and we will ensure that their work is recognized and protected. We will make more new product announcements in the months ahead."
