Extreme CCTV UF500 Gains Sales Momentum

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - April 10, 2006) -

Infrared illuminator finding new markets and applications

Extreme CCTV (TSX:EXC), the security industry's leading supplier of active infrared night vision surveillance equipment, reported today that sales for Extreme's leading UF500 Infrared Illuminators continues to grow as the Company finds new markets and applications.

A significant order was received for UF500s for a government funded ITS (Intelligent Transportation System) surveillance application in Brazil. The system will capture highway traffic activity during the day with regular cameras, and at night with Extreme's UF500 IR illuminators. As this is a trial system, the Company is optimistic for additional sales following a successful pilot period. Brazil is a growing market for Extreme's products. Extreme recently established a Central and Latin America (CALA) Regional Account Manager as part of an international sales strategy with its subsidiary Extreme CCTV International Inc. to penetrate South American markets.

Recent sales have been made for oil refinery security in Europe, military security for the US Army in the Middle East, and a large order of 250 UF500s are currently being installed at 19 substations for a power generation security application with Pennsylvania's largest utility provider.

Extreme's UF500 Infrared Illuminator is typically used for lighting the perimeters of buildings and along fence lines using invisible light at night. The UF500 now covers many of America's water reservoirs and government buildings.

Extreme's UF500 illuminator was developed to provide infrared lighting specifically for the CCD sensors commonly used today in security cameras, as opposed to lighting designed for the human eye. This provides the camera with the important evenly spread infrared illumination that allows for high signal, low noise, and great depth of field. The UF500 holds a US patent and is one of Extreme CCTV's top revenue producers, increasingly adopted for US Homeland Security and defense applications, especially for perimeter surveillance at sensitive sites and buildings. Extreme's UF500 can be found monitoring nearly every British embassy in the world.

Headquartered in Burnaby, British Columbia, Extreme CCTV Inc. (www.ExtremeCCTV.com) specializes in the design, development, and manufacturing of advanced infrared illuminators and precision-engineered video surveillance products. The Company's common shares trade on The Toronto Stock Exchange under the trading symbol "EXC", with approximately 16.2 million outstanding.
