Lindner added, "The P4080 also provides a smooth upgrade path for developers with a PowerPC code base."

The XPedite5430 is the second in a series of board-level products from X-ES based on the QorIQ P4080 processor, following the XPedite5470 3U VPX module. To satisfy the widest range of applications, from telecommunications to military applications with MIL-STD 810F requirements, all of X-ES's P4080 products are available in air-cooled, commercial (0 to 55ºC) to rugged, conduction-cooled (-40 to +85ºC) versions with appropriate shock and vibration testing.

The XPedite5430 pricing varies depending on memory configuration and ruggedization level. It is available now in limited quantities for development; production hardware is expected to be available in 4Q10.
