Users of the World's First Wireless Memory Card for Digital Cameras Can Now Access WiFi Networks Effortlessly and Upload Photos and Videos Using Hotspots Worldwide

SAN BRUNO, CA--(Marketwire - June 14, 2010) -  Devicescape, the leader in Easy WiFi, today announced that Eye-Fi, Inc., maker of the world's first wireless memory card for digital cameras, will dramatically expand its hotspot access service worldwide and offer hassle-free WiFi connectivity with Devicescape Easy WiFi. The new feature will enable Eye-Fi users to easily and wirelessly backup and share photos and videos from additional locations worldwide using Devicescape's 250,000 Easy WiFi Network hotspots.

"Our mission is to make backing up and sharing memories effortless," said Jef Holove, CEO of Eye-Fi. "With the addition of the Easy WiFi Networks worldwide, our latest lineup of WiFi memory cards offers effortless uploads with more flexibility than ever before. This capability takes convenience to a new level for our customers and makes it easier than ever to share memories on-the-go, be it while taking a trip for the weekend or while traveling abroad."

Devicescape Easy WiFi has gained incredible traction with companies that want to provide easy and ubiquitous WiFi access for their users, especially with the introduction of the Easy WiFi Network in 2009. With just a firmware update, that is now available to Eye-Fi's X2 users, Eye-Fi customers may take advantage of the Easy WiFi Network's 250,000 hotspots worldwide, enabling fast and easy digital photo and video uploads while traveling abroad or simply running errands. Devicescape's Easy WiFi also affords X2 users the opportunity to upload through open hotspots without having to navigate through splash screens, making sharing memories directly from the camera hassle-free.

"Today's savvy consumers expect to be connected regardless of location or device," said Dave Fraser, CEO of Devicescape. "Eye-Fi's innovations have brought cameras into the wireless fold, and with that comes the expectation of being able to backup and share digital memories on-the-go. We're excited to partner with Eye-Fi to bring this expectation to reality with access to an expanded network of a quarter million hotspots."

Available via a firmware update, Eye-Fi Explore X2 and Eye-Fi Pro X2 customers can now take advantage of the Devicescape Easy WiFi Network for free. Eye-Fi Connect X2 and Eye-Fi Geo X2 customers may add the service to their existing card for an annual fee.
