eyefortransport announces 2006 'RFID in Transportation & Logistics' report

Atlanta -- (MARKET WIRE) -- August 30, 2006 --Press Release

Date: 30th August 2006

For immediate release

eyefortransport's 2006 "RFID in Transportation & Logistics" report identifies the key issues facing transportation & logistics companies and their customers when it comes to RFID implementation.

The new report examines the current RFID strategy of transportation & logistics companies and their customers, and compares this with the data collected in a similar survey a year ago.

Analysis of the survey data indicates that the adoption of RFID and the implementation of RFID solutions is continuing at a pace that has not changed significantly over the last year.

While the majority of respondents readily acknowledge the many benefits of RFID, implementation costs and a perceived lack of industry standards are still major concerns.

To a large extent, RFID is being implemented at the request of customers, rather than as as a proactive way to keep up with the technology.

eyefortransport's RFID in Transportation & Logistics survey drew responses from professionals and key players in the logistics, freight forwarding, warehousing and distribution industry segments, as well as technology providers, shippers, government departments, and trade and industry associations.

The results of this year's survey have been published in a detailed report: RFID in Transportation & Logistics 2006 - An analysis of eyefortransport's recent survey, which can be downloaded from http://www.eyefortransport.com/rfid2006/report_2006.shtml

Much of the data gathered from this survey will be discussed and debated at the 3rd RFID Opportunities for Transport & Logistics Providers conference http://www.eyefortransport.com/rfid2006, which takes place on November 30 - December 1, 2006 at the Hotel Valley Ho in Scottsdale, Arizona. This is an event for transport and logistics industry executives who are interested in meeting with customers and peers to find out how to develop and execute a profitable RFID strategy.
