F-Secure Anti-Theft for Mobile Protects Confidential Smartphone Data

With F-Secure Anti-Theft for Mobile, Personal and Confidential Information on Your Mobile Phone Can't Be Misused by Anyone, Even If Your Phone Is Lost or Stolen

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwire - January 4, 2010) - F-Secure today announced the availability of its new standalone smartphone security product, F-Secure Anti-Theft for Mobile. The product provides three useful security features to protect your phone: remote lock, remote wipe and theft control.

The remote lock protects confidential information quickly and easily by locking the device with a single SMS message. If someone changes the SIM card, the theft control feature activates by locking the device and informing the owner of the new number. The remote wipe is the ultimate safety measure, erasing all data on the phone with a single SMS message.

Arnoud de Vaal, Director of F-Secure's Mobile Business Unit, said, "You carry your smartphone with you everywhere you go, which means it can be particularly prone to being lost or stolen. Nowadays our mobiles contain a great deal of personal and confidential data that need protection. F-Secure's standalone anti-theft software provides an easy and affordable way to make sure this information is not misused by anyone."

F-Secure Anti-Theft is also easy to upgrade to F-Secure's all-in-one mobile security solution -- F-Secure Mobile Security -- by activating the built-in automatic upgrade system. This adds more security features and capabilities for an additional fee.

F-Secure Anti-Theft for Mobile is now available for Symbian and Windows Phone platforms through the F-Secure eStore at
