Doors open at 6pm and admission requires a ticket and/or reservation. The annual gala showcases national designers, salutes local leaders and supports the efforts of the American Diabetes Association and Divabetic, a national diabetes awareness organization inspired by the late Grammy Award-winning vocalist, Luther Vandross.

Now in its third year, Fabulous 2006 includes dinner, dancing, staff and community awards and a "fabulous" fashion show featuring clothing and jewelry designers from Miami to New York City, make-up, hair and attitude from Karline's very own stylists and clients. This year, Fabulous 2006 pays special tribute to the legacy of Luther Vandross whose life ended much too soon from diabetes-related complications. Designers featured in the fashion show include Francis Hendy (New York, NY), named Michael Awards Menswear Designer of the Year (2000) and known for creating designs for recording artists including Missy Elliot, Usher, Steven Tyler and Lil' John; Twinestones Elite Jewelry (Pembroke, FL), known for its haute and hot collection of semi-precious stone pieces designed to be both aesthetically pleasing and spiritually uplifting; Choice Women (New York, NY), known for flowing and structured style lines for full-figured women; and Aneesha Hanif (West Palm Beach, FL), known for African-inspired wear.

Fabulous 2006 will recognize local leaders whose contributions enrich the fabric and future of Palm Beach County, FL. Honorees include Dr. Janice Scott Cover, Assistant Superintendent of the Palm Beach County School District and Founder of the Caribbean Educators' Association; Tania Rogers, Anchor/Reporter for WPTV-TV, and Ulysses Demetrius Winn, Martial Arts and Boxing Instructor at the Tate Recreation Gym.

Fabulous 2006 will also include impassioned, heartfelt remarks from Mrs. Mary Ida Vandross, mother of the late Luther Vandross, and Mr. Max Szadek, founder of Divabetic and, formerly, Mr. Vandross' personal assistant for 14 years.
