FAIL Blog Users Name Kanye West the King of FAIL in 2009

FAIL Blog Announces the First Annual Top Ten Lists of the Biggest FAIL Moments, the Biggest FAIL People and the Biggest FAIL Videos for 2009 as Voted on by FAIL Blog Users

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - December 10, 2009) - It was a year of many high profile sexual transgressions by Tiger Woods, David Letterman, and South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford, but FAIL Blog users ranked Kanye West the King of FAIL in 2009. The infamous moment when Kanye West stormed the stage and grabbed the microphone from Taylor Swift placed West at the top of the biggest FAIL Moments and Top Ten FAIL People Lists. The results were compiled from over 100,000 votes cast on FAIL Blog where visitors were able to vote on their most memorable FAIL moments, people, videos, and photos as well as submit favorites that were not listed.

FAIL Blog's Bolivian Newscast Airs "Lost" Scene as Flight 447's Last Moments -- an actual newscast using footage from the TV show "Lost" in a report of the Air France airplane crash -- ranks second on the Top 10 FAIL moments, followed by Richard Heene's Balloon Boy Hoax. On Kanye West's heels for the Top FAIL People are Jon Gosselin who trailed West by only 3,000 votes, followed by Glenn Beck, Octomom Nadya Suleman and Chris Brown. The David Letterman Sex Scandal received the fewest votes and Tiger Woods gets a lucky break likely due to timing of the vote, which started before reports of an affair with Rachel Uchitel and ended just as reports of an affair with Jamie Jungers surfaced, although he still received more than 1,000 votes.

"It was a year of epic FAILS on so many levels," said Ben Huh, CEO of the Cheezburger Network of humor sites that includes I Can Has Cheezburger, FAIL Blog, GraphJam, Emails From Crazy People, and There, I Fixed It. "Who better to rank them than FAIL Blog users. We're not so much laughing at the misfortune of others as much as saying, 'hey guys, you can do better.'"

Of course it wouldn't be FAIL Blog without ranking the videos submitted by users around the world of average people doing dumb things. The winner in the Top 10 FAIL Blog entries for 2009 is Frustrated Skateboarder FAIL, with Playground FAIL and Tarzan FAIL following closely behind.
