Fairborne Energy Trust Announces CDN $0.09 Cash Distribution for October 15, 2007 Payment Date and Exchangeable Share Ratio Increase

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Sept. 17, 2007) - Fairborne Energy Trust (TSX:FEL.UN) today confirmed a cash distribution of CDN $0.09 per trust unit for the month of September 2007. The distribution will be paid on October 15, 2007 to Unitholders of record on September 30, 2007. The ex-distribution date is September 26, 2007.

Fairborne Energy Trust today announced the increase to the Exchange Ratio of the Exchangeable Shares of Fairborne Energy Ltd. from 1.28739 to 1.30350. This increase will be effective on September 17, 2007.

The increase in the Exchange Ratio is calculated as follows:

Opening Exchange Ratio: 1.28739
Fairborne Energy Trust Distribution per Unit: $0.09
Five day Weighted Average Trading Price of FEL.UN
(prior to the end of August): $7.19

Fairborne Energy Trust Distribution per Unit by the Opening Exchange
Ratio and dividing by the Five day Weighted Average Trading Price of
