Fairchild Controls Receives Boeing Supplier of the Year Award

Company Recognized as Best in Electrical/Hydraulic/Mechanical Category

FREDERICK, MD--(Marketwired - Aug 5, 2014) - Fairchild Controls has been recognized as the 2013 Supplier of the Year by The Boeing Company in the Electrical/Hydraulic/Mechanical category. Fairchild Controls provides Boeing with the environmental control system for the AH-64D/E Apache Helicopter, and air drive units for 747-8, 767-400, and KC-46A Tanker aircraft.

Additionally, Fairchild Controls was one of several companies to receive a Boeing Performance Excellence Award, which recognizes 100% on-time delivery and a quality rating of 99.9% or better.

"Everyone at Fairchild Controls is honored and proud to receive such a prestigious award from Boeing," said Pete Borgel, Fairchild Controls President and Chief Executive Officer. "Achieving the Supplier of the Year designation publicly acknowledges Fairchild Controls as the 'best of the best' in its category and field of expertise. We look forward to maintaining our company-wide commitment to deliver product and program excellence to our partners," he added.

"With increasing competition and tightening budgets, it's more important than ever to have a global supply chain that is committed to first-time quality and component reliability and consistently delivers high performance," said Jack House, vice president, Supplier Management for Boeing Defense, Space & Security. "Our Supplier of the Year award winners have demonstrated that they are willing to help us create a long-term competitive advantage, leading to our collective success."

Fairchild Controls has been a supplier to Boeing for more than 20 years, dating back to avionics support on Boeing 747 aircraft. In the mid-1990s, the company supplied environmental control systems for Boeing's Apache Longbow helicopters; in 2000 the company's air drive units began helping to power Boeing 767-400 aircraft; and today, Fairchild Controls air drive units help power Boeing KC-46A Tanker aircraft.

This year's winners represent an elite group among more than 14,000 active Boeing suppliers in nearly 49 countries around the world. Selection as a Supplier of the Year was based on stringent performance criteria for quality, delivery performance, cost, environmental initiatives, customer service and technical expertise.
