Fairfax India Holdings Corporation (TSX:FIH.U) is pleased to announce that it has increased the number of directors from seven to eight and appointed Dr. Punita Kumar-Sinha as an independent director.
Dr. Kumar-Sinha is currently the Founder and Managing Partner of Pacific Paradigm Advisors, an independent investment advisory and management firm focused on Asia. She has over 25 years of experience in investment management and corporate governance, including serving as the Senior Managing Director, Chief Investment Officer and Senior Portfolio Manager of Blackstone Asia Advisors and the Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager of Oppenheimer & Co./CIBC World Markets.
Dr. Kumar-Sinha has a Ph.D. and a Masters in Finance from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, an MBA from Drexel University and an undergraduate degree in chemical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi. She is also a member of the CFA Institute, the Boston Security Analysts Society and the Council on Foreign Relations.
