Fairfield Dentist Unveils New Cavity Detection and Risk Assessment

FAIRFIELD, OH--(Marketwired - May 27, 2015) - Dr. Andrew Dine, a top Fairfield cosmetic dentist, has implemented a new cavity risk assessment system that determines whether patients are at a low, medium or high risk of tooth decay.

Dr. Dine recently began using the assessment system for all his patients. The simple and quick screening comes with tips on how patients can prevent themselves from getting cavities.

“Most people think cavities are inevitable but that is not true. By understanding acid mouth, dry mouth and proper home care, patients can now be actively involved in keeping their mouths healthy,” Dr. Dine said. “The surprising thing is the lack of information about this. Patients have been getting their education from advertisements instead of what really works.”

In addition to his cavity risk assessment, Dr. Dine offers an aggressive at-home care package for patients struggling with gum disease. The treatment includes Crest Cavity Protection Toothpaste, Act Anticavity Rinse, Closys Oral Health Rinse and Listerine. Patients are asked to use the four products twice a day to reduce the risk or expansion of gum disease.

“I want to give my patients as much information as possible to lower their risk of serious dental problems,” Dr. Dine said. “By encouraging my patients to aggressively protect their teeth and gums, hopefully I can help them keep a healthy mouth forever.”

Dr. Dine has been in practice for 38 years, serving the communities of Fairfield, Fairfield Township, Middletown, Ross, Hamilton, West Chester, Liberty Township and areas in Butler County, Ohio. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 1971 and then Case Western Reserve University School of Dentistry in 1976.

His practice -- Clock Tower Place, 1251 Nilles Road, Suite 16 -- offers preventive care, cosmetic dentistry (tooth-colored fillings, teeth whitening at the dentist, Sinsational Smile, and EasySmile LifeLike Veneers), restorations (dental crowns, dental bridges, root canal procedures and implant-supported dentures) and gum disease treatments. Dr. Dine uses DentalVibe, a system that uses vibrations before an injection in order to reduce the pain caused by an injection. Dr. Dine’s practice also includes a state-of-the-art digital X-ray machine. The machine provides images instantly, uses 80 percent less radiation and does not require the patient to have the uncomfortable X-ray film in their mouth.

Dr. Dine began offering Fastbraces™ in 2014. The brackets used with Fastbraces™ work on a different mechanical principle than that of traditional braces. The patented system uses an innovative triangular bracket and a specially-shaped square wire to correct the position of the root and the crown of the tooth from the beginning of treatment. Because Fastbraces™ realigns the root and crown simultaneously, it works in half the time of traditional braces, which realign the two in separate stages.
