Fairfield Inn & Suites Fort Worth University Drive Gives the Gift of Comfort to Families in Need

Marriott Hotel in Fort Worth Partners With Catholic Charities Fort Worth to Distribute Lightly Used Furniture and Televisions

DALLAS, TX and FORT WORTH, TX--(Marketwire - Sep 20, 2011) - There are few things that bring as much satisfaction as helping a worthy cause. So, when the Fairfield Inn & Suites Fort Worth University Drive began renovations on their guest rooms this past summer, they made the decision to give their used furnishings a second life by donating them to Catholic Charities Fort Worth.

Founded in 1910, Catholic Charities Fort Worth has a simple, yet challenging mission: To provide services to those in need, to advocate compassion and justice in the structures of society, and to call all people of goodwill to do the same. The decision by hotel management goes a long way to support that mission.

Starting with 30 televisions, the donation quickly took on a life of its own. Already known for convenient Fort Worth lodging, the hotel thrilled and surprised the charity by spreading the word within the Marriott organization and helping to raise a total donation from multiple properties valued at over $150,000. With help from volunteers and staff from Zelham Inc. and Hise Construction, the donation included beds, dressers, night stands, couches, chairs, coffee tables, end tables, TVs, lamps and dinette tables.

From their Creating Hope Donation Center, Catholic Charities Fort Worth will use these items to set up apartments and more for local families in need. "Through my connection with Steve De Leon (Coordinator of In Kind Services), I knew what the organization did," said David Moran, General Manager of Fairfield Inn & Suites. "He advised me of ways that we might be able to help, and this was just the right time for us to do our part."

Nestled along the Trinity River and recently renovated, the Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott hotel in Fort Worth is just a short drive from Bass Performance Hall, the Fort Worth Convention Center, Will Rogers Coliseum, Fort Worth Zoo, Lockheed Martin and TCU. Guests at this Fort Worth, TX hotel can make themselves at home with the heated indoor pool and Jacuzzi, or take a run down the miles of trails along the Trinity River. Guests can also go online using the hotel's free in-room wireless internet service or head down to our 24-hour business center with internet and printer to take care of business.

Guests of these suites in Fort Worth, Texas will also enjoy our new exercise room, guest laundry facilities, 24-hour market and in-room microwaves and refrigerators -- some of the main reasons for the hotel's donation.

"There will be literally hundreds of families that will benefit from this generosity," De Leon said. The Creating Hope Donation Center in Fort Worth is open for donations from 8 am to 1 pm Monday through Thursday.
