Fairmont Offers Fun Programs to Engage OC Youth This Summer

ANAHEIM, CA--(Marketwire - May 7, 2008) - This June, Orange County-based Fairmont Private Schools is launching a summer camp so cool that parents may soon be wishing they could attend school with their kids. Fairmont's 2008 Summer Program includes fun offerings such as Engineering With Legos, Science Detective - Build a Detective Kit, and Gizmos, Gadgets & Goop: Invent With Electronics.

"We welcome children who are not currently enrolled in Fairmont to participate in the summer programs," said Karen Fagerstrom, Fairmont's Summer Program Director. "It is an opportunity for parents and students to have a sneak peak at our classes, teachers and campus culture."

Featuring arts and crafts, music, soccer, cooking and water play, Fairmont's preschool summer camp is held at the Anaheim Hills, Citron and Edgewood campuses. Parents may choose from half or full-day programs, from two to five days a week, for their two-and-a-half to five-year-olds.

Elementary students may enroll in Fairmont's summer camp, enrichment programs, general summer school or English Language Learner programs. The summer camp includes classes in science, sports and art, while summer enrichment opportunities include Writing, Digital Photography, Total Golf Adventures and Meet the Masters Art workshops, among others.

Fairmont's Junior High enrichment programs include leadership workshops, Pre Algebra with Pizzazz, Write Your Own Children's Book, "Moving Out" Money and Cheerleading Workshop. Its junior high summer school classes include Pre Algebra Intensive, Geometry Fundamentals and a six-week course that covers grammar basics, essay writing, literary analysis and tailored math instruction.

For college-bound students, the Princeton Review SAT Prep Course is a summer favorite. In addition, high school students seeking additional academic credits may enroll in intensive three or six-week English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry or Physics courses. Fairmont also offers summer programs for international high school students and English Language Learners.

"With routine academics over until September, the summer provides a perfect opportunity for students to pursue their interests and gain new skills," said Fagerstrom.
