"I am honored to join a select group of important industry luminaries at the Huawei Cloud Congress, and to have been invited to present FalconStor's vision for modern infrastructures in China and the value of software-defined storage," said Yang. "As FalconStor actively expands its presence in China, we are seeing firsthand the growing appetite for flash and cloud storage, and congratulate Huawei on the success they have had with the OceanStor Dorado2100 G2/5100 all-flash SAN array."
Customers in China, one of the largest potential markets for IT services, are increasingly shifting to new storage platforms to meet challenges like data protection, recovery, and integration of virtual and non-virtualized resources. FalconStor, jointly with Huawei and independently through FreeStor™, offers improved efficiency, reduced costs, and business-critical data services for evolving infrastructures.
FreeStor's horizontal architecture enables these modernized data centers, to deliver common data services across heterogeneous environments while allowing simplified access to cloud, hybrid cloud, and flash storage. Software-defined storage helps users add new technology with less disruption, and optimize existing storage, as well as move, synchronize and protect data seamlessly across virtual and physical storage platforms.
"Software-defined storage should know no boundaries, whether they be technological or geographic, and this helps account for the rapid acceptance and adoption of FreeStor in China," said Gary Quinn, FalconStor President and CEO. "We believe our ability to modernize IT data centers with cloud and flash advancements, especially with our partner Huawei's new flash-based storage, opens up a world of opportunities in China's marketplace and helps users solve critical IT issues."
FalconStor and Huawei are presenting the FreeStor technology at the event with Huawei's OceanStor Dorado2100 G2/5100 all-flash SAN array (AFA) storage systems to deliver software-defined data services for their flash customers. FreeStor will enable data migration, continuity and synchronoous replication capability on the Dorado array platform. This will extend the data services available on Huawei's flash storage, delivering a well engineered and tightly integrated storage solution with high performance, high availability, low latency, and advanced features like remote replication and snapshots.
