FAME Productions, Inc. Acquires Augustus Publishing, Inc.

MELVILLE, NY--(Marketwire - October 12, 2010) -  FAME Productions, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: FMPR) announces that on May 30, 2010 it acquired 100% of Augustus Publishing, Inc., a publisher of urban based literature. 

Founded in 2005, Augustus Publishing is a leader in the field of urban content publishing, dedicated to providing the best in urban fiction and nonfiction. Augustus Publishing's titles interlace action, crime, and the urban lifestyle depicting the harsh realities of life on the streets. Currently, Augustus Publishing has over 25 titles in its portfolio and plans to expand with the release of numerous new titles, authors and distribution deals. 

Augustus Publishing has an exclusive distribution agreement with Publishers Group West, a division of Perseus Books Group. Perseus Books Group is one of the top ten publishers in the United States and has earned the distinction of being named publisher of the year. PGW has had numerous national best sellers including several that have sold over one million copies. This agreement with PGW provides national and international sales, marketing, distribution, and logistics support.

Augustus Publishing believes the continued popularity of urban publishing content attracts readers from all demographics similar to the crossover appeal hip-hop music has had on the landscape of America. The combination enables FAME to leverage the Augustus Publishing portfolio of urban literature properties across a wide array of media channels as well as traditional print, unlocking value and maximizing potential that may otherwise have gone untapped.

Under the terms of the acquisition, Augustus Publishing is operating as a wholly owned subsidiary and the management of Augustus Publishing has been appointed to the FAME Board of Directors and to the executive team. Accordingly, Jason Claiborne has become the CEO of FAME, Anthony Whyte joined FAME as its President, and Jason Santiago joined FAME as its Chief Operating Officer.
